The SIN card stands for Social Insurance Number, which is equivalent to a social insurance card。International students studying in Canada can apply for high school or higher education programs with a legal study permit。The main uses of SIN card basically include job hunting, social welfare, insurance, house purchase, pension and tax declaration.
Materials required for SIN application:
1. A valid study permit (need to indicate "may accept employment" or "may work")
2. The original passport;
3. Need to provide full-time study certificate, including the school's official letterhead, school DLI number and other important information;
4. Other documents to prove residence address
5. IMM1436 Application form
The application of SIN number requires the applicant to go to the nearby Canada Service for processing。
